Before you make the move to Aurora or surrounding areas you’re going to have a few things to consider. Colorado is different than other parts of the world and that’s a good thing! But it can also mean some unique moving challenges.
Double Check Utilities: You may want to start by looking up things like “internet service providers in my area” and checking on energy – the last thing you want is to show up to your new house and the heat not be on!
Talk to Movers: Depending on what time of year you’re moving, there may be snow here in Aurora. Talk to your moving company about their snow procedures and make sure your moving vehicles are ready to break out the snow chains and get to their final destination.
Get in Touch With Schools: If you’ve got kids you’re going to want to talk to their schools well before the move. Make sure their old records can transfer and get them registered for Colorado classes so you won’t have to stress over the first weekend you’re here.

For many people when they hear of Colorado one of the first things they think of is skiing. While skiing and other winter sports are a big part of Colorado, there are also many other things to do in the Aurora area.

There are numerous events and light displays in the area for the holidays. Since the weather does not get extremely cold it is possible to spend time outside and also to explore the many shops and restaurants. From Aurora it is less than an hour drive to the Rocky Mountains. The Denver Zoo is open throughout the entire year so you have the opportunity to experience it in the winter months instead of normally only in the spring and summer. There may be different animals since they are open during the winter also.

The area has four distinct seasons but the winters are not too cold. The average low temperatures are 16 degrees and the average snow fall is 63 inches. The winter weather in Aurora is mild to cold with periods of snow but does have warmer weather when they get the Chinook winds. You get the taste of some snow but not large amounts like some areas of the country. If you want more snow, it is easy to go higher into the mountains.More info here: How Well Do You Know Winter Sports?

The Aurora History Museum located in Aurora, Colorado is one of the best and most exciting museums located in the State. It was first opened in 1979 and provides hours of fun for everyone in the family due to its wide array of exhibits that will appeal to every member of the family; no matter what their individual tastes may be.

The Aurora History Museum makes for a great family outing because not only can it be an educational experience, it is also enjoyable and exhilarating. Whether you want to check out the African-American Baseball exhibit, or peruse the toy and clothes collection (that has items dating back from the 1890′s), there is a lot to take in and be impressed by at the museum. The full explanation can be found at http://frederictonregionmuseum.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/fredericton-region-museum-opens-new-history-exhibit/ The museum also contains a library, with lots of old artifacts and documents for visitors to view.
